Hi! I've been using the player fr ~1 month now and i haven't had any issues, and i love how customisable it is. But quite a lot of the time, notes that play on the mp3 don't show up on the player. It's not a big deall but I was wondering whether there was a fix??
It keeps crashing on me and I can't sort out why. I have a Mac and when I first downloaded it worked fine, but now when I open it, I see the image of the cat, and then it immediately closes. I've tried re-installing and that didn't work, I tried to go reset the config but I don't see an almam folder in application support
No there isn't one named Godot either. I forgot to mention that there is a folder named that ALAMPlayer, but it's in my downloads not in Application Support. I did try deleting the folder that was in my downloads but that did not work

hii, sorry, you can only use a single midi file with all the tracks in it (type 1 specifically so they can be customised separately) if ur daw cant do that then youll have to put the midis together in another one (like reaper) that supports it,
there's a box for each track labelled "staccato", uncheck it if it is checked and they should display their length. if thats not the problem then i have no idea why it happens but one other person has reported this, when a note ends and starts at the same time it can make the second note end early. not ideal but a fix for it if this is ur problem is to shorten the first one so they don't "overlap"
Hey, do you know whether or not I can use this with GarageBand? GarageBand is annoying and has its own weird type of project file. I'm not good with computers but maybe there's a way to convert it to the right sort of midi file or something.

Hi, I started using this and it worked pretty well! But now, it stopped working. It just opens for a few seconds and just auto closes. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
I've been stuck at this for hours now and I have NO idea how this works :( I don't know how to upload the midi files. Dragging and dropping doesn't work and there's nothing else i can do on this app. There's 0 tutorials on how to use it online as well. I'm on Mac if anyone has any tips whatsoever.
In the program, everything works great and is simple enough to use! Preview works as well as I'd expect one to. Only problem is my renders either do not work at all once created or will be audio only. Log is below:

those errors should be fine, theyre in every log. what do u mean by the renders not working at all ? the .avi files godot exports are pretty weird, they should open in VLC but the default windows player struggles with them i think, that could be the issue
i think this mostly happens with ableton,. or i guess any daw that only exports single track midi files. i dont think i can do anything about it , ive heard other people use a separate daw that can do multitrack exports (like reaper) to export their midis
I am not able to convert the midi to json with the app you mentioned, when I load the midi file it can only be heard but not downloaded in any visible way. Any suggestions?
Is there a way you can download this on chrome OS? I tried all three which obviously wouldn't work anyways on a chrome laptop, but is there a way you can make it work for my device?
This is amazing! One small thing is that bpm automation is not reflected in this midi player, maybe it's because json doesn't preserve that data when converted (edit: oh it actually does preserve that data). Other than that this is super cool!
oop sorry i didnt see this,. not much i can do about this right now unfortunately since as far as im aware godot 4 only supports vulkan for now so it cant run on older hardware
hii ty ! ive never seen that happen, can u tell me what daw u exported the midi with and what json converter u used? ive only had this happen when i had tempo changes in my track and the converter i tried ignored them, but this converter should work fine: https://tonejs.github.io/Midi/
I'm using the converter you linked to. I am using Ableton Live, which tbf has midi export capabilities but for just one track. I exported one track, but it seems to be out of sync. I then exported each track, converted each track and then copied each track object to a single file to have all tracks, they seem to appear fine together, but still the out of sync makes me sad.
oh yeah ive heard that ableton doesnt have great midi exporting capabilities,. its obviously not ideal, but i know someone who uses a different daw just to export their midis (reaper would be pretty good for this i think)
hi i have the same so its probably not that, if u can send me ur logs i can take a look at them, they should be located in AppData\Roaming\ALMAMPlayer\logs
Hi I really love your MIDI visualizer!! Been playing around with it and had a quick Q: is there a way to export with a transparent background? I tried importing a completely transparent image but would just get a solid grey bg.. appreciate any help and ty for making this amazing tool :]
hii, if only one track shows up you probably have a single track midi file (type 0), you need to export a multitrack one (type 1) and all the tracks should show up separately
Another question, i was able to load multitracks, but for example, the midi tracks: "KICK", "OPEN HAT", and "HAT CLOSED" (Which are drums instruments) appears on the same line.
How do I make the hat can be seen at the top of the preview? I want to separate the instruments and try to make it look good.
this looks very interesting. Possible idea to implement is a playlist feature? Say, if I want to automatically go through a folder's worth of midis in the thousands (e.g runescape's midis)
ah this looks amazing! I'm on mac (currently 10.14.6) and unfortunately it does freeze immediately on launch (nothing pops up except for the navigation bar).
But otherwise ty for making it! it looks like it'll be a really amazing tool. <3

It just does nothing, it looks like it's going to accept it and then when I load the preview or export it's still the default song.
very strange,. have u tried resetting configs + reinstalling?

hii, sorry, you can only use a single midi file with all the tracks in it (type 1 specifically so they can be customised separately) if ur daw cant do that then youll have to put the midis together in another one (like reaper) that supports it,
Some of the notes don't render the full note value and just show up as a dot, is this normal?
there's a box for each track labelled "staccato", uncheck it if it is checked and they should display their length. if thats not the problem then i have no idea why it happens but one other person has reported this, when a note ends and starts at the same time it can make the second note end early. not ideal but a fix for it if this is ur problem is to shorten the first one so they don't "overlap"

sorry for a late reply, it was an issue with ableton, it doesn't provide bpm info with the midi
Hey, do you know whether or not I can use this with GarageBand? GarageBand is annoying and has its own weird type of project file. I'm not good with computers but maybe there's a way to convert it to the right sort of midi file or something.

But now, it stopped working.
It just opens for a few seconds and just auto closes.

hi, only .avi, sorry. handbrake works pretty well for converting videos to mp4 in my experience

I ended up finding what the issue was I wasn't properly changing all my channels to midi before i actually converted it into a midi
I've been stuck at this for hours now and I have NO idea how this works :( I don't know how to upload the midi files. Dragging and dropping doesn't work and there's nothing else i can do on this app. There's 0 tutorials on how to use it online as well. I'm on Mac if anyone has any tips whatsoever.
hii can u explain it in a bit more detail? when u drop in a midi file and the mp3 and u click the preview button does it just play the default song?
In the program, everything works great and is simple enough to use! Preview works as well as I'd expect one to. Only problem is my renders either do not work at all once created or will be audio only. Log is below:

those errors should be fine, theyre in every log. what do u mean by the renders not working at all ? the .avi files godot exports are pretty weird, they should open in VLC but the default windows player struggles with them i think, that could be the issue

i dragged a midi file, and all but one track disappeared. i can't use more than one track
[on mac!!]
i think this mostly happens with ableton,. or i guess any daw that only exports single track midi files.
i dont think i can do anything about it , ive heard other people use a separate daw that can do multitrack exports (like reaper) to export their midis

I am not able to convert the midi to json with the app you mentioned, when I load the midi file it can only be heard but not downloaded in any visible way. Any suggestions?

This is amazing! One small thing is that bpm automation is not reflected in this midi player, maybe it's because json doesn't preserve that data when converted (edit: oh it actually does preserve that data). Other than that this is super cool!

oop sorry i didnt see this,. not much i can do about this right now unfortunately since as far as im aware godot 4 only supports vulkan for now so it cant run on older hardware
Actually this is fixable. Godot4 currently doesnt fallback to GLES 3 when the gpu doesnt support vulkan, but you can either:
--display-driver openglCompatibilitymode instead ofForward+(this will fix alot of the MacOS issues too)I can't open it.
MacOS monterey 12.4.

hii ty ! ive never seen that happen, can u tell me what daw u exported the midi with and what json converter u used? ive only had this happen when i had tempo changes in my track and the converter i tried ignored them, but this converter should work fine: https://tonejs.github.io/Midi/
I'm using the converter you linked to. I am using Ableton Live, which tbf has midi export capabilities but for just one track. I exported one track, but it seems to be out of sync. I then exported each track, converted each track and then copied each track object to a single file to have all tracks, they seem to appear fine together, but still the out of sync makes me sad.
oh yeah ive heard that ableton doesnt have great midi exporting capabilities,. its obviously not ideal, but i know someone who uses a different daw just to export their midis (reaper would be pretty good for this i think)

When i try to load 2 json files at same time, ALMAMPlayer crashes.

if only one track shows up you probably have a single track midi file (type 0), you need to export a multitrack one (type 1) and all the tracks should show up separately

Another question, i was able to load multitracks, but for example, the midi tracks: "KICK", "OPEN HAT", and "HAT CLOSED" (Which are drums instruments) appears on the same line.
How do I make the hat can be seen at the top of the preview? I want to separate the instruments and try to make it look good.

It turns out that when I create the midi of the stems, I always use C2 for comfort.
If I change the OPEN Hat from C2 to C8, in the visualizer it will be higher since they are more "high" notes.
this looks very interesting. Possible idea to implement is a playlist feature? Say, if I want to automatically go through a folder's worth of midis in the thousands (e.g runescape's midis)

ah this looks amazing! I'm on mac (currently 10.14.6) and unfortunately it does freeze immediately on launch (nothing pops up except for the navigation bar).
